CIVIL UNREST, L'EMBRASEMENT

In October 2005, two teenagers from Clichy sous Bois died in a electrical sub-station. A third teenager who suffered serious burns called the emergency services. Since then there have been two conflicting versions of events: that of the youths who claim they were pursued by police officers on the way home from a football game and the version of the authorities, in the person of the Minister of the Interior, who deny the existence of any pursuit. That very evening the first cars were set alight. It was the beginning of a crisis which would last for three weeks.
